Business Intelligence Analyst

 

 

Purpose of Position

The business intelligence analyst is a key resource supporting senior leadership team in data management, client reporting, work flow processes, and problem resolution.  This person works closely and reporting to the Project Manager and the Sr. Leadership Team to ensure integrity of the data systems and work processes. This position requires strong computer, analytical skills, and attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The business intelligence analyst will leverage in-depth knowledge of business operations and legacy applications to develop new business reports, which include designing complex data modeling across the organization consisting of 43 locations across the U.S. with over 400 colleagues.  This position will implement development requests of existing schema, modules and reports to solve a variety of complex business problems by creating interactive front end user dashboards and reports that provide business operations with valuable financial data.  Develop Target Specialty Products Finance reporting dashboards to provide business leaders with KPIs such as Inventory turns, Revenue, Sales reports to drive margin improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects data, researches, and prepares analysis for region, department or function budget performance and projects. 
  • May monitor department budgets by reviewing data in the financial system and communicating with the managers/directors. 
  • Investigate and correct budget errors. 
  • Prepares advanced financial trend and data analysis reports. 
  • Accountable for the coordination, compilation and distribution of financial data by region. 
  • Development of regional/or functional budgets. 
  • Lead automation projects to improve and develop insightful reports in the areas of volume and cost
  • Support business development and product management in logistics and inventory topics.
  • Responsible for entry in budget system with accuracy. 
  • Performs ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.
  • Communicates and supports analytical findings. 
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements. 
  • Assumes other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed. 
  • Works under general guidance; accountable to complete work assignments. 
  • Write SQL Queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical staff.

  • Time Management – Work on large projects and many data streams and meet deadlines.  Being able to manage multiple tasks, assignments and projects is critical to the position.

 

Education


High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent; Prefer Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.Educational Requirements

Working Conditions

Work Schedule typically Monday through Friday 8-5 pm.  Works out of Santa Fe Springs Office in CA.  Travel may be required.
