Sales Representative - Golf





Motivated self-starter who can work independently with a focus on results in achieving company business goals.  Plan, organize, and sell the company’s product lines within assigned sales geography to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives while developing and enhancing client relationships within the Golf and Landscape markets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Actively manage assigned internal and external accounts, developing and maintaining solid client relationships
  • Provide technical support and product information for client inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate client contact information to support marketing related programs.
  • Communicate company promotions, programs, and pricing within assigned geography.
  • Prepare quarterly and yearly forecasts for customer demand.
  • Assist finance/credit department as needed to insure client account balances fall within company credit guidelines.
  • Participate in sales/product training and company meetings as requested.
  • Work with key vendor manufacturer representatives in a manner to keep current on technical product updates and marketing programs.
  • Understand and support the company’s sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers.
  • Collaborate with Regional Manager to develop a personal professional development plan and complete as assigned.

Education and/or Experience                  

Bachelor degree in Business or Science relevant to Turf & Horticulture along with minimum of two years industry experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have working knowledge of fertilizer and plant protection products. 


Language Skills                   

Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with an ability to listen to client needs so as to provide sound agronomic solutions.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of company.


Mathematical Skills                

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 

Reasoning Ability                                                                                                                                                                           

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills                                                                                                                                                                               

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheet software.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have valid driver’s license. Possess a California PCA license or have ability and requirements to acquire one.
