    Accountant I

     

     

    Purpose of Position

     

    The Accountant I will be involved in cash reconciliation for various bank accounts including newly acquired company bank accounts. Daily tasks will include cash reconciliation, issue resolution and support for field contacts. This role will also be heavily involved in payroll accounting, including but not limited to: weekly/biweekly payroll ledger validation, wage reclass entries, all payroll related accrual entries, issue resolution and ownership of the payroll balance sheet account activities and corresponding workpapers.

    Other General Accounting tasks will be assigned as needed by Accounting Manager or Director of Financial Operations.

    Responsibilities

    Primary or Key Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Able to work independently.
    • Reconcile cash activity for multiple, varied accounts.
    • Validate payroll expenses loaded to the ledger tie to source documentation.
    • Generate and submit all payroll related accruals.
    • Generate and submit all wage reclass entries.
    • Respond to and resolve payroll accounting related questions from the Business Partners.
    • Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and resolve open items on a timely basis.
    • Serve as backup for weekly Cash Forecast preparation.
    • Learn and provide backup support for team members’ cash reconciliations and perform as needed.
    • Learn and provide backup support for team members’ non-cash reconciliation tasks.
    • Work solidly as a team with various departments including AR, Payroll, AP and FP&A.
    • Read, write and comprehend written and spoken English to communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
