Responsibilities

What do our Bird & Wildlife Specialists do?

 

The Bird & Wildlife Specialist is responsible for removing birds and wildlife for our commercial clients. The BWS travels daily to client facilities to conduct regular inspections and perform removal services for birds, mammals, and nesting. The Bird and Wildlife Specialist has regular interaction with clients before and after performing services. This position can work a day shift, night shift or baker’s shift schedule depending on the route. In addition, some weekends may be required.  Candidates must be customer oriented and take pride in providing World Class service to clients. This is a full time position with great benefits, company vehicle, and profit sharing, paid holidays, and vacation among many other competitive rewards.  This position has base pay plus bonus potential. Rentokil Canada Corporation provides training including travel expenses, experience a plus but not required.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

 

  • Schedules and performs bird and wildlife services based upon set procedures and times agreed upon with assigned clients
  • Effectively manage birds and wildlife for assigned clients
  • Ensures client needs are satisfied by providing polite, pleasant and professional service
  • Schedules extra service requests within 2 hours and performs the service within 24 hours of request to ensure bird and wildlife problems are effectively managed
  • Accurately completes Service Reports including detailed recommendations for improving structural, storage and sanitation deficiencies for each client visit
  • Promptly completes and delivers to the office all assigned reports and work records
  • Communicates daily with the Administrator and Service Manager to determine extra service requests or other operational needs
  • Ensures service route efficiency in planning and scheduling client visits
  • Emphasizes safety in all aspects of service and all other duties
  • Monitors and maintains an exceptional level of client satisfaction
  • Maintains service vehicle and all service equipment in an exceptional manner
  • Generates incremental new business from existing clients
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Flexible schedule required

What do you need?


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Computer skills - Basic knowledge required
  • At least two (2) years work experience in a service environment - preferred
  • Ontario’s Trapper License - preferred
  • Previous experience working independently and with little supervision - preferred
  • Experience in a bird and wildlife position, route or delivery work, and/or prior experience in the pest industry a plus 
  • Enjoy hands-on work and have a positive, can-do attitude
  • Good decision making skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to physically perform the essential duties of the position which include lifting up to 75 lbs. chest high, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching,
  • handling, balancing, walking and standing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licenses/certificates as required by Federal, provincial and local regulations, i.e Structural Pest Control License 
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide a current drivers' abstract
